I’m Opal, the Founder and President of Hotel Marketing Strategist. With more than 25 years in hospitality, I’ve dedicated my career to helping hotels of all sizes compete and thrive. My passion lies in empowering boutique and independent properties with the strategies, tools, and expertise that were once only accessible to the big brands.

With a BS in Economics (Honors) and an MBA specializing in Marketing and Advertising, our founder built a strong academic foundation that blends analytical skills with creative strategy.
Recognized as a leader in hospitality, she has served on advisory boards for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, lending her expertise to shape tourism strategies on a global stage.
Her consulting has delivered measurable success, including increasing a client hotel’s market share from 67% to 124% and generating $1.1 million in additional room revenue within nine months.
With over 25 years of experience in hotel sales, marketing, and revenue management, she has led both boutique and branded properties to exceed revenue goals, consistently bringing “big brand” knowledge to independent hotels.
Driven by a passion for hospitalityHelping hotels thrive is more than work for me, it’s what I love. I enjoy blending creativity with strategy to bring out the best in every property. Outside of hospitality, I find joy in horseback riding and dance (I’m RAD trained).
